A story of a new vision
VZ began two years ago, when, like most men, the time came to update my underwear. The problem was that when you want to get a sexy set of men's underwear, you are limited to a few brands, and they all suffer from the same issues: riding up, and the fabric and elastics degrading after a few washes, making them look terrible. There were some options that offered slightly better quality and didn't ride up, but they looked like they were designed for function over sex appeal.
VZ was born from the idea that men can have underwear that is both functional and comfortable all day, while looking classic, classy, and sexy.
Trial and Error
The research and development stage was a lengthy one. We spent nearly two years thoroughly examining all the underwear on the market to determine what worked and what didn’t.
We tested a vast number of samples, trialing different fabrics, lengths, and styles to find a design and combination of fabrics that would eventually create the perfect pair of underwear.
Launching and what VZ means
The VZ label I wanted to be a true representation of myself. The letters VZ represent the initials of my last name, and the crowned lion symbolizes my proud Dutch heritage. The crowned lion also represents many of the traits that all men desire: strength, pride, confidence, relentlessness, and leadership.
September 2025 marks the launch of VZ. We already have big aspirations for the future; we hope to bring some items to the market that haven't been done before, move into designing a women's range, and introduce other clothing products. This truly is just the beginning!
So why are VZ underwear the best?
You see, not all underwear is made the same. When it comes to underwear, the options for fabrics are vast—cotton, silk, bamboo, polyester, spandex, and all the rest. At VZ, we use a 95% bamboo and 5% Lycra blend. We have found that this gives everything a modern-day king needs: buttery softness, stretch, breathability, durability, and the ability to quickly evaporate sweat when you decide to get down to business. This means you will be cool, confident, and feeling every bit a king in all situations.
The True weight of the matter
All the competition uses a fabric weight between 80-200 grams per square meter, with most settling at around 150 GSM. At VZ, all our underwear are 240 GSM. Now, what does that actually mean? The lower the fabric weight, the more fragile and faster the underwear will perish. Lighter fabrics also lose their structure and don't feel as good after a few washes. We wanted something that would last, feel, and look amazing even after hundreds of washes, making VZ underwear truly fit for a king!
